Low-energy electron capture by N3+, N4+, and N5+ from hydrogen atoms using merged beams

Abstract
Measurements of absolute total cross sections for single-electron capture in collisions of N3+, N4+, and N5+ ions with ground-state atomic hydrogen are reported in the energy region 0.91400 eV/amu. Good agreement is obtained with available theoretical calculations and with previous experimental results at the higher energies. None of the systems studied shows a clear signature of the induced-dipole attractive force in enhancing the cross section.
