Abstract
Measurements of absolute total cross sections for single-electron capture in collisions of , , and ions with ground-state atomic hydrogen are reported in the energy region 0.9–1400 eV/amu. Good agreement is obtained with available theoretical calculations and with previous experimental results at the higher energies. None of the systems studied shows a clear signature of the induced-dipole attractive force in enhancing the cross section.
