Abstract
Quantum-optical considerations and the energy dependence of the inelasticity distribution predict that the relative broadening of the multiplicity distribution with increasing energy in hadron-hadron reactions must stop. Upper and lower bounds for the width of the multiplicity distribution are given. Other experimental consequences testable at presently available energies are also predicted. Keywords
