Abstract
Involvement of the adrenal glands is shown at autopsy in approximately 50% of patients with disseminated paracoccidioidomycosis. However, medical literature reveals only 7 proved cases of Addison''s disease and 12 with low adrenal reserve associated with this mycosis. We report here 4 patients with adrenal cortical hypofunction and paracoccidioidomycosis. Stress is laid on the possibility that in Venezuela paracoccidioidomycosis constitutes an important cause of adrenal insufficiency. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
