Abstract
All the available data concerning barrier region resonances in the + system have been examined within the framework of the molecular symmetry model suggested by Iachello. The model accounts very well for the energies and spins of the observed resonances in terms of vibrational and rotational excitations of a well-defined diatomic molecule.
