Abstract
The gastrocnemio-semimembranosus bursa and its relation to the knee joint was investigated in an autopsy material. Arthrography, dissection and microscopy were performed. The area between the joint and the bursa is described. The frequency of communicating bursa is higher in older individuals and this is due to degeneration of the joint capsule. Keywords
