Abstract
The specific binding of aminoacyl sRNA as well as free sRNA to the ribosome template complex is described. Approximately four molecules of phenylalanine sRNA interacted with one molecule of poly U on ribosomes. The specific free sRNA can stay on the ribosome only when the messenger RNA is present on the ribosome. High concentrations of LiCl releases the sRNA from the complex. Phenylalanine sRNA was recovered from the complex and it was chromatographically identical to the original phenylalanine sRNA.Keywords
