Abstract
An exact analytical solution is given to the Boltzmann equation in one dimension for a particle scattering from optical phonons in a constant electric field. The solution extends our earlier theory to now include both forward and backward scattering of the particle. The drift velocity saturates at high field, and the saturation velocity is found to be temperature independent. Keywords
