Abstract
Evidence is offered for the existence of several cellulolytic components in the extracellular filtrates of microorganisms. Components separated chromatographically differ in their relative activities on native cotton, swollen cellulose, and CMC. A synergistic effect was obtained when separated components were recombined. Keywords
