Influence of Previous Dietary Protein and of ACTH on Blood Glucose Concentration of Fasting Rats

Abstract
Rats fed a low protein diet, high in either fat or carbohydrate, or supplemented with gelatin, are unable to maintain their blood glucose levels during a subsequent fast. Such rats are hypersensitive to insulin but the fasting hypoglycemia can be readily abolished by admn. of adrenocorticotropic hormones.
