Abstract
We present here a generalization of the effective-medium approximation to include weighted initial conditions. The implementation of the method is demonstrated on a random-trap model with bias where some exact results are available. Our results provide a closed form and accurate interpolation between the short- and long-time regimes. The connection of these results with continuous-time random-walk theory is discussed. Keywords
