Binding energy of H3+ from the analysis of angular and energy distributions of the reaction H3++He→H2+ +H +He

Abstract
We have applied both angular and energy distribution measurements of the collision-induced dissociation of a-few-keV H3 + in He to estimate the binding energy of the triatomic molecular ion H3 +. Our measured value of 6.3±0.5 eV below the dissociation energy agrees well with previous theoretical predictions and experiment.
