Abstract
Studies of the kinetics of iodide-I131 given intravenously to control dogs and dogs receiving growth hormone, cortisone, and thyroxine showed that growth hormone and cortisone increased, whereas thyroxine decreased, the rate of urinary excretion of I131. By applying the kinetic analysis described previously it was found that the rates of distribution and excretion of iodide-I131 in the control and hormonal experiments were sufficiently rapid not to affect the interpretation of metabolic studies made with albumin-I131 in the dog. These results permit improved and more accurate estimates of the metabolism and distribution of plasma albumin in control dogs and dogs treated with the hormones. Keywords
