Abstract
A multiple-moment approach to the dielectric function of a dense nonideal plasma is treated beyond the random phase approximation including collisions in the Born approximation. Sum rules are checked, and the relation to the dc electrical conductivity is pointed out. Enlarging the number of moments used, converging results are obtained. The proposed approach is compared to a perturbation expansion of the Kubo formula. Keywords
