Mossbauer investigation of the layered compound FeMo2S4

Abstract
The layered compound FeMO2S4 has been studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy in the temperature range from 4.2 up to 300K. The Neel point is determined as 114.1+or-0.3K, and the temperature dependence of the hyperfine magnetic field reveals a two-dimensional magnetic structure. Superparamagnetic effects found in a region of about 15K below the Neel point are connected with the unusual behaviour of the magnetic susceptibility reported recently.
