Abstract
Lipids, prepared by ethanol-ether extraction of the plasma of lactating cows, were extracted with light petroleum. The lipids soluble in light petroleum were subjected to chromatography on silicic acid columns. Fractions were obtained which consisted essentially of sterol esters (the main component of the extracts), of triglycerides and free sterols; other smaller fractions consisted of unidentified lipids and of phospholipids which were accompanied by non-lipid material.
