Effects of Constrained Information on Player Decisions in Experimental Business Simulation: Some Empirical Evidence

Abstract
This study presents some empirical findings of a research on game learning in which business games were used for experimental purposes. Two games were used with 200 students in order to test whether lack of information about the rules of the games would signif- icantly affect the decisions of the players. Evidence indicated that even under conditions of complete "ignorance" the players discerned the critical variables. Furthermore, on the b~is of analyses of variance it was concluded that no significant differences existed in the decisions of the groups that were separated into "informed" and "uninformed" in two different business simulations of serious complexity that were designed to augment marketing and financial skills, respectively.
