Abstract
The anion-exchange resin Dowex-1 was used to separate the iodinated compounds from the kidneys of mice treated with small doses of I131. 60-70% of the I131 in the kidney after 70 hours was organically bound. Chromatographic analyses of the organic iodine compounds after elution indicated that only small amounts of thyroxine were present. Most of the organic I131 occurred in a metabolite of thyroxine which was shown to be a conjugate. This metabolic was not present in the serum or urine. Keywords
