Abstract
Star-shaped terraced etch pits at the sites of dislocations have been produced on the (0001) plane of crystals of vapour grown zinc, using Superoxol etch. The same etch pattern is also observed on the (0001) basal facets of crystals grown by the droplet method. Closely spaced etch pits suggestive of low-angle tilt boundaries are also observed. Evidence has also been presented of spiral growth mechanism from a Frank-Read source. Keywords
