Abstract
An equation is presented for the prediction of the protein value of diets when fed under conditions of caloric restriction: where C is the caloric intake per day per kilogram of body weight to the power of 0.73. Observed values for NDpCals % for 6 diets fed to rats over a range of caloric intakes agree well with the values from the equation. A nomogram is presented for the easy solution of the equation which it is proposed tentatively could be applied to man. Keywords
