Abstract
The linearized Boltzmann equation for electrical transport is solved with an energy dependence beyond that of the lowest-order variational solution. A basis set is found for which the resistivity calculations converge rapidly. The solution obtained is applied to calculate the deviation from Matthiessen's rule in the dilute limit. Exact results for the resistivity in an Einstein phonon model are derived. Keywords
