Abstract
The authors propose a multimode waveguide photodiode utilising asymmetric waveguide structure which is suitable for optical hybrid integration without coupling lenses, and has a high responsivity of 0.95 A/W at a wavelength of 1.31 µm. Its 1 dB coupling tolerance to a planar lightwave circuit is ±2 µm in the vertical direction. Keywords
