Abstract
We present a quantum theory of plasmons in lateral multiwire superlattices. Intersubband plasmons are studied in the quantum regimes where the wires are electrically insulated from each other, and where weak electron tunneling between wires is allowed. Our theory provides a plausible explanation of the experimentally observed infrared resonance in lateral multiwire superlattices in these regimes. Keywords
