Abstract
A rare case of cardiomegaly in a woman aged 43 is reported. An enormous left intrapericardial auricular aneurysm connected to the atrium by a torquated “neck” was removed and the risk of arrhythmias and emboli thereby abolished. The case demonstrates the necessity of thorough examination in patients with extreme cardiomegaly. Isolated, giant dilatation of the left auricle is a rare, but surgically important cause of cardiomegaly. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
