Abstract
The main morphological characters of Medicago striata, M. leiocarpa, M. lenticularis, M. muricoleptis, M. sessilis and M. secundinora are stated and illustrated with photographs of their pods. Natural growing and collection sites are noted. The chromosome number in all these species was found to be 2n = 16. The chromosomes were generally small, 1.8 to 4.8 [mu] in length; some variation was noted, however, in size and uniformity characteristic to different species. Photographs of pods of the closely related species M. littoralis, M. suffruticosa, M. tornata, M. inter-texta, M. minima and M. lupulina are given for comparison. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
