Abstract
The switching rate of triglycine sulphate has been measured over a temperature range from 87 K to the room temperature. The temperature dependence of the activation field α is very similar to that of P s 3 T -1 in agreement with the requirement of the nucleation model for the sidewise wall motion during switching, where P s is the spontaneous polarization and T the temperature. It is shown, using Wieder's date on colemanite (J. appl. Phys. 31 , 180, 1960), that α varies with temperature as P s 3 T -1 also for this ferroelectric. Keywords
