Abstract
A new application of the photoelectron paramagnetic resonance (photo-EPR) technique is proposed. It is shown that extensive photo-EPR studies can lead to a plausible model of the nature of photoluminescence (PL) emission bands resulting from donor-acceptor pair recombination. A whole range of different experiments is proposed in order to determine the donor and acceptor centers which take part in PL processes. The model of PL obtained from such photo-EPR investigations accounts in a satisfactory manner for the results of the different PL experiments performed on scandium-doped ZnS crystals. Keywords
