Abstract
Two of 12 acute sera from viral hepatitis patients produced destruction of chimpanzee kidney cells in tissue culture in 6 to 8 days after inoculation. The cellular effect was seen in 3 serial passages. Fluorescent antibody and neutralization tests showed serological cross-reaction with convalescent hepatitis serum. The agents resisted heat treatment at 56[degree]C for 30 minutes. Keywords
