Abstract
Soft resins were oxidized by air and the volatile water-soluble products were shown, by gas liquid chromatography, to correspond to those obtained by distillation-extraction of hops. Resins from two varieties and a commercial hop extract were oxidized and quantitative differences in the products were found. The formation of ketones during oxidation was confirmed by thin layer chromatography.Keywords
