Abstract
Thallium -subshell fluorescence yields and Coster-Kronig transition probabilities are determined by observing x rays in coincidence with x rays, x rays, and -conversion electrons following the decay of to the 279-keV level in . High-resolution Si(Li) and Ge(Li) detectors are employed. The following results are obtained: , , , , , , , and . Angular correlations between and x rays are studied and the following values are obtained for in the relation for x rays, 0.26±0.05 for x rays. No angular correlation is found between and x rays. The -x-ray emission rates from - and -subshell vacancies are compared with the recent calculations by Scofield.
