Abstract
An extensive study of the incidence of urinary stone formation has been made, with particular emphasis on idiopathic bladder stones in children, and the work carried out up to the present has been reviewed. The relation of the condition to the factors of historical time, ethnology, geography, socioeconomic status and climate has been studied in detail. While advances in our understanding of its aetiology have been made, the whole problem is still very far from being solved. Keywords
