Abstract
Nonlocal potentials are presented which give excellent fits to the 1S0 proton-proton phase-shifts together with a neutron-neutron scattering length of -16.4 fm. The local parts of these potentials do not have the knoll which is present in the equivalent local potential, suggesting that in the latter there is, through the phase-shift, an interference effect. The nonlocality suppresses the wavefunction at small distances and introduces a node. Finally, a single nonlocal potential is given which produces a good fit to the 1S0, 1D2 and 1G4 phase-shifts.Keywords
