Abstract
An [alpha]-ketolic Kober chromogen (KC-5) was isolated from the urine of pregnant women. The evidence obtained shows that the principal component in KC-5 was either 16[alpha]-hydroxyoestrone or 16[beta]-hydroxyoestrone. Reasons for favoring the first alternative are given. Keywords
