Quality and storage losses of silages made in bunkers, stacks, and by vacuum compression

Abstract
Mean dry matter recoveries of edible silage were: "vacuum" — 86%, "bunkers" — 80%, "stacks" — 77%. When grass dry matter contained about 20% of sugar, fermentation characteristics of the silages were little affected by storage methods, but as sugar levels decreased to 10%, these effects increased substantially, indicating greater stability of vacuum silage.Keywords
