EFFECT OF RABBIT ANTISERUM TO SHEEP PITUITARY INTERSTITIAL-CELL STIMULATING HORMONE IN ADULT FEMALE RATS

Abstract
Rabbit antiserum to sheep pituitary interstitial-cell stimulating hormone was shown to counteract the endogenous interstitial-cell stimulating hormone of adult female rats. The occurrence of estrus was prevented when the antiserum was injected 36 hours before the expected time of ovulation. The treatment also had a striking effect on the ovary, uterus and vagina, as evidenced by histological examinations.
