Abstract
A heretofore undescribed Streptomyces produced, in submerged culture, i) streptomycin, identified by chemical tests, by bacterial spectrum data, and by critical toxicity tests on animals; and ii) another antibiotic, not yet conclusively identified, but in many respects similar to streptothricin. A method of processing the culture filtrate is described. The streptothricin-like antibiotic is elaborated during the earlier period of fermentation and the streptomycin subsequently. Keywords
