Abstract
The incorporation of glycine- U-C14 into rat adrenal nucleic acid in vivo was stimulated by both adrenocorticotrophin (ACTH) and growth hormone. Similar effects in vitro were observed; the hormonal effects on glycine incorporation were prevented by their combined administration or by substitution of Krebs-Ringer phosphate for Krebs-Ringer bicarbonate in the incubation medium. Only ACTH exerted a significant stimulatory effect upon the incorporation of lysine-U-C14 into nucleic acids in vitro. Keywords
