Abstract
Fasting for 4 or 5 days resulted in a significant elevation of the low density serum lipoprotein concns. of 5 of 6 volunteers. The concn. of high density serum lipoproteins was not significantly altered during the period of fasting. Restoration of normal levels occurred within 24 hrs. of resumption of a normal diet. Sucrose ingestion at the end of the period of fasting did not significantly change serum lipoprotein concn. in 3 hrs. Keywords
