Abstract
It is shown that the energy dependence of charge-exchange photoproduction () agrees with a one-pion exchange mechanism. No evidence for the photoproduction of the is observed. If the dynamics of and photoproduction are assumed to be the same, the absence of evidence for the is shown to be consistent with either an extremely large hadronic width or with an of mass somewhat less than 1260 MeV.
