Abstract
The disease was discovered in 3 members of a family, a maternal uncle and 2 nieces, whose bloods mutually correct the clotting defects of true hemo-philic blood and blood obtained from subjects with plasma thromboplastin component (PTC) deficiency. This new clotting factor, designated as plasma thromboplastin antecedent (PTA) is present in BaSO4-treated normal plasma and in normal serum. Keywords
