Abstract
The protein bound iodine (PBI) concentration of serum was noted to fall to hypothroid levels in prepubertal children and in adult females given large doses of either methyltestosterone or testosterone propionate. The fall in the PBI concentration was not accompanied by clinical signs of hypothyroidism. A depression of the thyroidal iodine uptake was seen in several of the subjects.Keywords
