Abstract
A method is presented for detn. of plasma or serum protein-bound iodine (PBI) using high-temp. incineration in the presence of alkali. The distillation step, requiring close individual attention, is eliminated. The final detn. of inorganic iodide is performed colorimetrically by measuring the catalysis of arsenious acid decolorization of a ceric sulfate soln. Data are given for considerir the range of normal to be 3.5-8 [mu]g. %.Keywords
