Abstract
Two lactating rabbits were injected intravenously with inorganic (P32) phosphate and 4 lactating rabbits were injected with (P32) phospholipids Contained in plasma. The specific radioactivities of the phospholipids of mammary glandular tissue (and liver) were compared with the specific radioactivities of alkali-stable (glycero-phosphate) P and in-organic P from the corresponding organs. Phospholipids are probably synthesized by the lactating gland and also taken up from the plasma and degraded to the extent of about 20% in 2 hours; it is probable that the same amount was also synthesized. Keywords
