Abstract
The studies described in this report demonstrate the presence of a gonadotrophin- inhibiting substance in the urines of normal subjects. Extracts were prepared from the urines of the following age groups of both sexes: 6–12 years, 12–20, 20–40, and over 60 years of age. All showed the presence of the gonadotrophin-inhibitor. The same urinary extracts that inhibited the effect of human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) on the mouse uterine weight failed to inhibit the mouse uterine response to estrone. Keywords
