Abstract
As valine liberation by acid hydrolysis is very slow, previous valine values are l(5w. D-Leucylglycine, L-alanyl-D-valine and L-alanyl-D-leucine were obtained and recognized. The 2 latter were synthesized. An ultramicromethod for assessing the optical configuration of the amino acids was developed. The amino acids are separated on paper chromatograms which are sprayed with a soln. of D-amino acid oxidase from kidney. The amino acid structure of gramicidin is discussed. Keywords
