Abstract
Single crystals of myo‐inositol were x‐irradiated at 4.2 °K and the free radical products identified by means of ESR–ENDOR spectroscopy. All of the identified products result from loss of hydrogen. One of the products is an alkoxy‐type radical. Two other products are of the type –HCOH–ĊOH–HCOH–. In order to account for these radicals, it is postulated that a hydrogen transfer process occurs following the initial radiation‐induced oxidation–reduction process. Keywords
