Abstract
Good results were obtained in the surface production of penicillin by Penicillium notatum on media containing lactose, glucose, acetic, citric and phenylacetic acids, (NH4)2SO4 and other inorganic salts. If starch and an aliphatic base such as ethylamine are added to this medium the penicillin yield is about the same as that obtained with media containing corn-steep liquor. Keywords
