Abstract
A multicluster phenomenological model which is tuned to fit ISR and p-p collider data has been adapted to high-energy cosmic-ray-air collisions, and extrapolated up to 107 GeV. An extensive three-dimensional Monte-Carlo simulation of EAS has been performed in the energy range 2*104-107 GeV. Quite good agreement is found between the experimental results and the predictions of this model, as well as an unexpected consequence, namely the decrease of total inelasticity with energy. Keywords
