Abstract
The Nb-Si bond and the local structure of the amorphous alloy system Nb1-xSix are studied in a wide range of concentrations x:0.21-xSix with X-ray spectra of crystalline Nb5Si3 and NbSi2 implies that in the metallic phases of Nb1-xSix for 0.2<or=x<or=0.8 the coordination of Si is other than tetrahedral. Keywords
