Abstract
A good substrate for the study of clearing factor in heparinized plasma is made with a commercially available 50% coconut oil emulsion (Ediol, Schenley Laboratories, Inc.) diluted 100-fold with physiological saline and mixed with 5 volumes of normal plasma or of 3% albumin. The graphical representation of the clearing reaction results in a straight line curve. Comparison of the graphs of the reactions of oil and normal plasma with the graphs of oil and albumin indicate that albumin is only one of the cofactors for the clearing factor. Keywords
