IV. RESPONSE OF CITRIC ACID LEVELS OF NORMAL ADULTS AND CHILDREN TO INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTION OF EPINEPHRINE 1

Abstract
Epinephrine was injected intramusc. to 28 normal adults and children. The glucose and citric acid levels were then followed for 2 hrs. A rise in serum citric acid levels was noted. A preliminary lag period of approx. 15 min. was noted before the rise of citric acid levels. There was no such lag period noted in the rise of glucose levels. Intraven. glucose or intramusc. insulin caused a lowering of citric acid levels.
